Deven Shah, Ph.D

Director of Preclinical Development

Deven Shah joined the ceedd in 2007 as Director of Preclinical Development supporting the CM&C, DMPK and Safety Assessment aspects of the ceedd alliances. In February 2009, he took on additional responsibility of providing commercial analysis support for U.S.-based alliances. Dr. Shah is currently providing support to Chemocentryx, Concert, Targacept, Ligand and Theravance alliances. Prior to joining the ceedd, Dr. Shah led a team within the Pharmaceutical Development department that provided physical properties and developability assessment support to the GSK Oncology and Antibacterial Discovery unit and contributed to identification of several promising candidate molecules. Prior to joining GSK in 2001, Dr. Shah spent six years within the Preclinical Drug Evaluation department at the Johnson & Johnson research unit (RWJPRI) in roles of increasing responsibility. Dr. Shah received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics/Drug Delivery from the University of Southern California. He holds a B.S. in Pharmacy from Calcutta, India.
