James Kew, Ph.D.
Director of Biology
James Kew joined the ceedd in 2010 as a Director of Biology. Prior to this, he spent 8 years in roles with increasing responsibility within GlaxoSmithKline in both Neurosciences Drug Discovery, most latterly as Director of Molecular & Cellular Biology within the Schizophrenia & Cognitive Disorders Discovery Performance Unit, and within Molecular Discovery Research. Dr. Kew obtained a B.Sc. in biological sciences (University of Exeter) and a Ph.D. in developmental neuroscience (University of Cambridge), after which he spent seven years within the CNS research group at F. Hoffmann-La Roche, Basel. He has co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and has experience of drug discovery from target identification through to clinical proof of concept. Dr. Kew is currently working with the ceedd alliances Prosensa and Chroma Therapeutics.
