Declan Jones, Ph.D.
Head of European ceedd
Declan Jones joined the ceedd in 2007 as a Director of Biology. Prior to this, he spent 14 years in roles with increasing responsibility in CNS drug discovery within GlaxoSmithKline, finishing as Director of In Vivo Neurobiology and also Disease Area Strategy Leader for Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorders. Dr. Jones obtained a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences (Pharmacology) and a Ph.D. in Psychopharmacology (University of Bradford), followed by post-doctoral work at Emory University School of Medicine and later, Glaxo Group Research, U.K. He has co-authored more than 75 peer-reviewed publications and has recently completed a 3 year term on a grant committee for a major U.K. research funder (Biotechnology & Biological Sciences Research Council or BBSRC). Dr. Jones is currently working with the ceedd alliances Targacept, Prosensa and Chroma Therapeutics.
